HRCI’s 2022 Position Paper – Using data for better health research

Our 2022 Position Paper is all about data and its importance to health research. The themes contained within are a priority for our member charities and have also been guided by the outcomes of the Irish Health Research Forum events, which HRCI runs. The Paper lays out three recommendations for politicians and policy makers and provides a brief context for each. These recommendations are:

Recommendation 1: Ensure national leadership in genomics, through a cross-government approach
Recommendation 2: Urgently progress the implementation of electronic health records
Recommendation 3: Establish a national research ethics committee for patient registries
