Dr Betül Hekimoğlu

Betül Hekimoğlu is a Scientific Programme Manager at Research Ireland, where she oversees the design and delivery of a portfolio of Challenge-based research funding programmes addressing complex societal challenges, including the Innovating in Health and Wellbeing Challenge launched in 2025.

Previously, she worked in research management at Trinity College Dublin, supporting the development of funding portfolios within the School of Computer Science and Statistics, and held a business liaison role at University College Dublin as part of the Celtic Advanced Life Science Innovation Network.

Betül holds a PhD and has postdoctoral research experience in Molecular Biology and Epigenetics, as well as an MSc in Science Communication. She is passionate about advancing research with impact, strengthening collaboration across disciplines, sectors and wider society, and promoting inclusive and effective approaches to innovation.
