Isabella Bray

Isabella Bray

Isabella holds a BSc in Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Cancer Cell Biology, both from Dublin City University. After completing her Ph.D., she joined the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, where her research focused on neuroblastoma, a rare paediatric cancer. In 2014, she transitioned to Fannin Scientific, where she worked until 2016, when she became the Research Manager at the Irish Cancer Society. In 2018, she joined the Senior Management Team at the National Children’s Research Centre, taking on responsibility for Research Operations. In 2024, Isabella was appointed Head of Translational Research at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI).

Her diverse background in academia, industry, the charity sector, and the HSE has equipped her with unique insights into health research and its translation into patient care. Isabella is passionate about fostering research at all career levels and disciplines, and creating cross-sector partnerships in order to build a sustainable research framework upon which research can grow and ultimately translate into tangible benefits for patients and their families.
