Date: 30 May 2019

Time(s): 9am-1pm
Venue: The Carmelite Community Centre, 56 Aungier Street, Dublin 2

The Medical Research Charities Group invites you to attend a seminar on Evidence for Advocacy

Patient-focused charities and other community organisations increasingly seek to be guided in their activities by evidence. In parallel, policy makers now regularly insist on evidence from those who are advocating for improved services and access to care. How do we undertake meaningful research though and how do we make it count so that it has impact for the populations we support?

This seminar will feature speakers from research, policy and PR backgrounds and will address questions such as:

What types of research can charities effectively undertake themselves?

When is it a good idea to partner with an academic group?

How can we make best use of the evidence we generate to strengthen our case with decision-makers?

Patient organisations will have plenty of discussion time with the experts, to allow them to get to the heart of the issues they are currently experiencing or to learn about how they might be involved in advocacy in the future.
