Membership Criteria

HRCI Full Membership is open to charities:

  • based in the island of Ireland.
  • registered with the Charities Regulator i.e. must have a RCN number.

Applicant organisations must:

  • Have, or seek to have, a medical or health research focus, demonstrated by a research strategy or policy.
  • Be patient-focused and represent patients’ perspectives in the most appropriate ways e.g. through patient involvement at Board/governance level. 
  • Be available to contribute to the HRCI community.
  • Be willing to support the aims and activities of the HRCI and comply with the HRCI member code of conduct.

HRCI Associate Membership is open to charities:

  • based in the island of Ireland.
  • registered with the Charities Regulator i.e. must have a RCN number or registered in another country but will register with the Charities Regulator within the two-year period of Associate Membership.

Applicant organisations must:

  • Have, or seek to have, a medical or health research focus, demonstrated by a research strategy or policy.
  • Be patient-focused and represent patients’ perspectives in the most appropriate ways e.g. through patient involvement at Board/governance level. 
  • Be available to contribute to the HRCI community.
  • Be willing to support the aims and activities of the HRCI and comply with the HRCI member code of conduct.
  • Be committed to progressing to Full Membership status within 2 years of becoming an Associate Member.
